A prolific northern Arizona restaurateur is making his Valley restaurant debut with a colorful new Italian restaurant in downtown Phoenix this October. Skyler Reeves, a prolific northern Arizona restaurateur, is set to open his fifth original concept, Hero, in downtown Phoenix. The restaurant will be the debut of Hero, a colorful Italian restaurant inspired by the Mario brothers video games. The name Hero is a nod to the Mario Kart protagonist, but the design incorporates subtle elements such as a red and blue heavy color palette and light fixtures. The food at Hero will be served by chef Yuji Iwasa, who has a Japanese influence over Italian dishes. The drinks menu includes wine, beer, and specialty cocktails.
