PHOENIX — Just as temperatures reached nearly 90 degrees on Thursday in Phoenix, a cold front will knock those temps down bringing rain and wind with it.

The strongest wind gusts, up to 65 mph in the High Country, are expected on Friday. Shower chances will also increase but will favor the mountains. The snow level will start near 6,000 feet but could eventually fall to near 4,000 feet Saturday morning. Light snowfall amounts are expected.

Saturday will feature lingering snow showers in the mountains in the morning but sunshine all day for the Valley. Despite the sunshine making a comeback, far below-average temperatures are in the forecast for Saturday.

Temperatures will fall into the 60s on Saturday with lows in the upper 40s.
