Warriors’ first taste of Curry-Green load management provides opportunity — and disappointment
The Warriors’ bench unit played a ton against the Suns. The fans who wanted to see Steph Curry were left wanting. The Warriors lost 131-122 to the Phoenix Suns, marking their third game of the season. The team's performance was similar to that of last season, when Jimmy Butler and Steph Curry were sidelined due to injuries. The younger players were given more playing time due to Steve Kerr's decision to give Yaxel Lendeborg a larger role than they might otherwise have. Despite some mistakes, Kerr and his coaching staff liked the younger players' efforts. The organization is committed to doing whatever it takes to keep the veterans healthy, so be it. The loss was only the third game, but it was not too early for Kerr's load management program.
