Arizona Baby Found Alive in Hospital Morgue After Four Hours Greek City Times
An Arizona toddler suffered devastating lifelong disabilities after hospital staff declared him dead and transferred him to a morgue, where an employee found him alive four hours later. 18-month-old boy, Vincent, was found unconscious in a backyard swimming pool on 8 February in Arizona after being declared dead by hospital staff and transferred to the hospital morgue, where an employee discovered him alive nearly four hours later. The incident occurred when Vincent wandered out of sight during a family gathering and was found by his family members and was rushed to Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, where medical staff continued resuscitation efforts. However, attending physician, Arian Tousi, refused to reassess the child, citing his medical training and blood gas measurements as incompatible with life. Despite this, staff transferred Vincent to the morgue and he remained there for four hours before an employee from the medical examiner’s office discovered him breathing and still alive. Eight months after the incident, Vincent is now two years old and cannot walk, speak, sit independently or swallow, and will require lifelong care. His parents are now pursuing legal action against the hospital and its staff for what they describe as a "catastrophic medical error".
